A motorcyclist, aged in his 40s, had died following a single-vehicle road traffic accident, which took place in Dublin over the weekend. The fatality occurred at Junction 1 Southbound of the M1/M50 slip road in Dublin on Sunday evening. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the tragedy, which occurred shortly after 7pm. A statement from An Garda Síochána confirmed that the motorcyclist, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to Beaumont Hospital, where a post-mortem exam is set to take place. Gardaí confirm that the road has since reopened, following a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The force are appealing to any witnesses of the collision to come forward. ‘Any road users who have camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling in the area at the time, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí. Elsewhere, Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following another motorcyclist, also aged in his 40s, who died following a fatal crash in Offaly on Sunday evening. Emergency services attended the scene on the R357 at approximately 6.45pm at Mullaghatour, Belmount, Co Offaly. The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and was removed to Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore. Gardaí are appealing to any road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam) who were travelling in the area at the time.
