Jane Treacy began working with QVC in 1986 at the age of 24 as one of the home-shopping network’s first hosts, back when there were no guest product experts. She is a winner of the National Infomercial Marketing Association award for best short-form commercial and a prior nominee for best television shopping presenter.

Treacy, who lost her mother to cancer, has hosted QVC’s annual shoe sale, FFANY Shoes on Sale, which benefits breast cancer research and education since 1995. Treacy almost didn’t attend the audition for QVC because she did not believe she had any sales skills and does not view herself as a salesperson.

At one point, she took a year off from QVC but returned due to correspondence from fans and her awareness that her work at QVC meant something more than products to the viewers. Treacy’s QVC workday starts three hours before she goes on air with time spent reviewing products, talking with guests and participating in off-air education sessions with her colleagues.

She reports that her original ideas are the basis for her specialty shows, such as “Shoe Shopping with Jane.” Treacy continues to rely on the advice of QVC’s founder, Joe Segal, to always give the customer more than they expect.

Jane does beautiful knitting and is passionate about it. She took a finishing class of teaching knitting techniques after 40 years. She loves to ski & exploring beaches. Treacy is equally passionate about biking, walking, and swimming in the ocean.

She is passionate about reading particularly true-life based historical times, tales of the sea. Every Thursday night at 9 pm on ET, she hosts a show on Shoe Shopping. She makes herself available at least three to four hours before any of her show, just in order to prepare herself from hair, makeup, understanding the product to meet up with the visitors.

She and her team often have jam sessions to discuss the latest fashion trends. They also do off-air research on latest fashion trends across the world. In the late 1990s, when Facebook, QVC, and other social media were not present, Jane used to receive lots of customer calls.

She would go off-air to take customers’ orders over the phones. Clients would often send her mails with lots of remarks, observations, and queries. One of her most memorable consumer feedback was when a customer informed her that her shoes were so relaxed that she forgot to take them off and went to sleep. The next day when she woke up she found them still on her feet.
